Conditions Treated
As described in the What is Osteopathy page, our approach involves working on the body as a whole as opposed to treating a “condition”.
Sometimes the cause of a problem is remote to the area where the symptoms are felt and we may therefore work on numerous parts of the body and not at all where the symptoms are experienced. Even utilizing the gentlest techniques, osteopathic treatment affects the body as a whole as it is not possible to treat one part in isolation without affecting other parts.

Osteopathy and PregnancyA woman’s body changes during pregnancy. This can cause general aches and pains including joint and back pain, and osteopathic care may help relieve the stresses and strains on your body during pregnancy and after birth.
Babies and ChildrenOsteopathic techniques are suitable for children at all stages of development and we regularly see babies and children at the practice. Like adults, children can be affected by general joint and muscle issues, but parents also take their children to visit an osteopath for a variety of other health reasons which may benefit from our care.
Children’s requirements differ depending on the stage of their development. As they grow from infants, toddlers, children to teenagers, we consider your child’s individual needs, age and stage of development and adapt our advice and treatment accordingly.
Cranial osteopathy is a technique which is safe, gentle and non-manipulative and often used when treating young children and newborn infants. |
